»FLEX vs Java FX
When in 2003 I started to play with Flash I tought the only way to move around things was using Flash technology. I was studying also Swing technology, but comparing to Flash it was much much harder. The only thing I did not like about Flash is the Authoring tool environment. I am a programmer and playing with the grafical elements, the timelane and so on, it was not my field. Then, later, when the programming language called AS3 came out, I was finally happy becuase I was programming Flash tecnology without touching the Stage area, but only from my scripting language. Then in 2008, I think, I started to learn FLEX technology, and I opened my eyes to a new world. I was able to play with graphical components using XML structure. Not only I could also choose to develop web application or rather desktop application. In our words: I have discovered America for my skills!!.
But the story did not end. In 2009 I was in San Francisco for the Oracle open world, and I was programming flex when someone look on my pc and told me: "have you ever tried java FX ?" I got courious and look on the net... a new door for a new word. I bought the first book I have found, and while reading it seams to me I was reading FLEX !!! So here I am with two technology that technically have the same potentiality but use a slightly different programming language: AS versus Java. Have fun !!
